After a national search, J. Joshua “Josh” Wilda, MPA, has been appointed UI Health Care’s associate vice president for information systems and chief information digital officer (CIDO), effective Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025.

In this position, Wilda will lead the Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) team and oversee information technology services, including technical support, applications development, and clinical applications across the health care enterprise.

Wilda has more than 18 years of health care leadership experience and currently serves as chief digital and information officer at University of Michigan Health–Regional Network, a comprehensive health care system serving Michigan through a network of hospitals, clinics, and outpatient facilities. In this role, Wilda has led transformational change, bridging clinical care, digital strategy, and operational efficiency and improvements.

“Josh is a dynamic, passionate leader who brings nearly two decades of experience in health care technology as our organization continues to find new, innovative ways to serve more Iowa communities,” says Denise Jamieson, MD, MPH, UI vice president for medical affairs and the Tyrone D. Artz Dean of the Carver College of Medicine. “Josh’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence makes him uniquely positioned to align and advance our people, processes, and technology, which will keep us ahead of the curve in research and education. He is passionate about building strong teams; empowering our clinicians, researchers, and educators; and improving the patient care experience. We’re delighted to have him lead our team of 600 HCIS employees who are instrumental in making sure our entire enterprise runs smoothly each and every day.”
